Posted on TAMC website
"It’s flower season. Watch your step!
To show off nature’s handiwork, our local gardeners at the Lake Tahoe Historical Society will host the 9th annual “Tahoe in Bloom” Garden Tour in South Lake Tahoe on Sunday, July 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Besides the lovely gardens, headlining the tour is the much anticipated raffle for a giclee print of  “Tallac Summer” shown here by South Lake Tahoe artist Bonita Paulis who donated it to help raise money for the Museum.
This year’s garden tour will feature four gardens in the Angora Fire burn area, three off Pioneer Trail, and one in town where you’ll be treated to refreshments and music. Each garden will be available for viewing between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2012.
Tickets for the 2012 “Tahoe in Bloom” Garden Tour are only $20 and can be purchased at Aspen Hollow, Nels, Sun Basin and Tahoe Outdoor Living as well as the Historical Society Museum located at 3058 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
Raffle tickets for the framed giclee of the original “Tallac Summer” pastel byBonita Paulis are $1 for one ticket, $5 for six tickets.  You can see the painting at the Museum and exhibits of Tahoe history and Osgood’s Toll Booth Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
The garden tour is the primary fund raiser for the Lake Tahoe Historical Society Museum which is located at 3058 Lake Tahoe Blvd next to the TAL Art Center and the South Lake Tahoe Art Center. Pleasanton Weekly News

Late winter pastel exhibit opens in downtown Pleasanton
Public show features trio of award-winning artists

Just in time for a week ofValentine's Day celebrations in downtown Pleasanton, three artists who are signature members of West Coast pastel art societies are showing their "Love of Art in Pastel" paintings to the public at Studio Seven Art on Main Street.
The exhibit, which is free to the public, features master pastel painters Debbie Wardrope, Bonita Paulis and Marla Baggetta. They're varying works show breathtaking landscapes, California vineyards and other colorful scenes.

"Nothing matches the color and inspirations of pastels," said Dirk Christiansen, owner of Studio Seven Arts, which is hosting this late winter exhibition featuring bold and colorful works of the three master artists.

"Our featured works by Debbie, Bonita and Marla typify some of the finest work in natural scenes."

Debbie Wardrope is a signature member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast who also works in oil and acrylics. She teaches art through the city of Pleasanton for children and adults. Next Saturday, she will be at Studio Seven from 10 to 2 p.m. to demonstrate her pastel techniques and to showcase her latest works.

Bonita Paulis, a signature member of the Sierra Pastel Society, has created paintings from a diverse collection of areas in the western U.S., from the High Sierra, to the California coast and the desert southwest.

Marla Bagetta, who is a signature member of the Pastel Societies of America and Oregon, has been a professional artist since 1983 when she began painting the landscape. She is one of the West's' leading representational painters with her compelling and sophisticated imagery.

Studio Seven Arts, one of the Bay Area's largest art galleries, has been voted by readers as the 'Best Art Gallery in Pleasanton' by the Pleasanton Weekly in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. In 2011, the studio was awarded the 'Best of the East Bay' by Diablo Magazine. The store is located at 400 Main St.

I resist letting go of Fall this time of year so yesterday while it was snowing outside my window  I was back in the desert, painting  Wilson Canyon  in Nevada,  remembering my hike with friends from a few days before. Sure is fun to be an artist, I can go wherever I want from my own studio.
